WTHype: L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Review & Maybelline Loaded Bolds First Impressions

The most talked about and hyped about products in the Philippines right now are the L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24hr Foundation and the Maybelline Loaded Bolds lipsticks. Of course I had to review them otherwise I would not be a real beauty blogger! 😂 And I thought to name this new segment for my YouTube channel as What The Hype?! where I check out the most hyped products of the moment and recommend if they’re worth buying.

For those new here, I have dry skin most days but sometimes it’s normal especially right now that it’s scorching hot here in the Philippines. I prefer sheer and medium coverage foundations because I like a very skin-like finish. My main problems with foundation are flaking and getting dry patches, and finding a shade match.

For the Loded Bolds, I got the shades I was most interested in: Wickedly White, Audacious Blue, and Pitch Black.

Watch my video for demonstrations, swatches, the final check-in, and even me buying the items in the department store:

Infallible Pro-Matte:

I was able to get a skin-like finish with the Infallible Pro-Matte by blending with a beautyblender using pushing motions for around 5 minutes. It set quickly by itself and felt really light on my skin.
I have worn the Infallible twice already at 1) medium coverage all over, and 2) full coverage on my nose and medium on my cheeks, for at least 8 hours each day with no airconditioning, in high humidity, at at least 34C temperature. Despite sweating profusely, my foundation remained intact save for some minor transfer and fading on the tip of my nose when blotting. There was also some minor fading on my mouth area which could have been due to my lip swatching of the Loaded Bolds.

Loaded Bolds:

I appreciated the nuance of the collection because it had black and white shades for mixing with your existing lipstick collection. I intend to use them to deepen or lighten my lipsticks and upon initial use, it seems to work really well for that. They weren’t as opaque as I expected in that if you use them alone you would have to use multiple swipes for full opacity as compared to their claims of just “one swipe.” But if used to mix, one swipe is enough to get a totally new shade of lipstick.

Final Verdict:

If you’re in need of a versatile long-lasting foundation for this weather, the Infallible Pro-Matte is a must-have.

If you’re an avid lipstick collector, like bold lip looks, and especially want to be able to mix & modify your existing lip colors, the black & white shades of the Maybelline Loaded Bolds will be useful. However if you just want your lipsticks as they are and can’t be bothered to mix and match, the other stand-alone shades of the Loaded Bolds will be better for you. Or you can skip them entirely if none of the shades call out to you.

That’s all!
